Daddy rides his bike to work everyday, so a little road rash (scrapes and bruises) here and there is to be expected. Well, we were at the park the other day and little Mac got his own taste of road rash. I didn't even notice it until we were home (he hardly even complained). Our little guy is growing into a big boy.

First Road Rash
Daddy rides his bike to work everyday, so a little road rash (scrapes and bruises) here and there is to be expected. Well, we were at the park the other day and little Mac got his own taste of road rash. I didn't even notice it until we were home (he hardly even complained). Our little guy is growing into a big boy.
Swings
We have recently discovered a new neighborhood park, and it has been a life-saver. On Saturday we tried the swings for the first time, and Mac was immediately in love. I tried to take pictures with my phone, and they aren't great, but you can get a bit of an idea of how much he liked it.

Our Happy Little Zombie
It's happened. Just a few days ago Mac was crawling around like a speedy little rug rat, and now, all of the sudden, he is taking his first steps (we think he looks just like a little zombie). As you can see in the video below, he is still a little on the wobbly side, but it won't be long now before he's off to the races!

World Cup Fever
The US may be out of this year's World Cup, but we are still watching just as much as ever. Since we don't have cable, the only channel we can watch games on is Univision (the Spanish channel). Mac has figured out how to control the volume by turning the dial on the AV receiver (see left), making the animated Spanish commentary even more exciting. I think that Mac's next word is going to be: GOOOOLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!! This won't be the first language he speaks. He has shown his German heritage by yelling "NEIN, NEIN, NEIN, NEIN, NEIN....!" whenever he doesn't like something.In other news, Mac started walking yesterday! I will post a video or two soon. He looks exactly like a zombie (arms outstretched in front of him, slow and lumbering gait, etc.)
Pool Time
It has been super hot down here in NC lately, and we sprang for a $10 baby pool at WalMart out of pure desperation. Mac is having a blast, and here are a few pictures of him playing in the front yard.
