"Hi Mac!"

A few days ago I was folding laundry on the bed and Mac was playing on the floor. I looked over at him, and he looked up at me with an expression like he was really concentrating, and lifted his arm like he was waving at me. I was so surprised...who taught him that? I smiled and waved back, and he smiled too. A few minutes later I decided to test this new skill out. I said "Hi Mac!" and smiled and waved at him. He smiled and waved back at me! The whole rest of the day he would look over at me every few minutes and wave...while he was playing, eating, even while I changed his diaper. I think all in all we did the waving thing about a hundred times that day. Now he seems to have moved on...but I was happy to catch this wave this morning in the kitchen. Ellis says he looks more like and Indian saying "how." (He is part American Indian after all).

Another cute thing that he does: while I am in the kitchen doing dishes or cooking, he likes to look for me in his mirror when he is playing. He smiles and then goes back to playing with the wooden spoons and tupperware!

  1. oh my gosh Grams, he's adorable!! You need to keep taking those pictures. I love the wave and the hair. I can't wait to see him again, hopefully, before he goes to college!!
