This past Sunday was a pretty special day for our family. The first thing on the agenda was to get everyone corralled and on the road for Daddy's graduation from residency. We actually made it on time...barely...with only one minor injury. Mark that down as a success in our book!
A few weeks ago I had a nice surprise when we got the information for graduation. The information card said that it started at 2pm (right smack in the middle of nap time) and that it ended at 5pm (the witching hour). I knew we would be in for an exciting afternoon!
Thankfully, the Grandpas and Grandmas took turns entertaining the kids. I can honestly say that even with 3 hours of speeches to listen to, there was never a dull moment for us. And we truly did have such a good time getting to see all our family that was able to come.
Giving the kids ice cream definitely seemed to keep them happy for a while. :)
By the end of the afternoon, the kids were a mess. I was delirious, and I am pretty sure Ellis was too...but we were happy.
Someone said Ellis and I should get a nice picture together holding his diploma. Sounded wonderful.
Believe it or not, this is the least chaotic looking picture we could get. Obviously Davey was ready to head home by then, and that is Mac's leg pictured in the lower right-hand corner of the photo...but where was Corrie?
She had passed out on Grandma Johns' lap!
I loved seeing my dad and Davey together.
And just as things were starting to settle down at Ellis' graduation in Front Royal, we received the following text and picture from Jeremy and Joy in California:
"Ella "Ellie" Joy Vetterlein, born at 11:58, 7 lb 14 oz, 19 1/2 inches long.
This picture is a good representation of her personality so far."
It was a really sweet thing to have everyone all together when we got the news of Ella Joy's birth. We were all so happy and excited for Jeremy and Joy.
Until they get a blog of their own, we will shamelessly post tons of cute baby pictures here.
Congrats guys! Love you three!
All in all, it was a pretty exciting day for the Johns/Belding/Vetterlein Family :)
Congratulations Ellis, and happy Birthday Ellie!
